Simple future tense adalah tense yang digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu perbuatan yang akan dilakukan di masa depan (rencana)

C. Fungsi Simple Future Tense
Untuk menunjukkan sebuah pekerjaan yang akan terjadi pada masa yang akan datang.
Contoh:
You will always be in my heart forever and ever. (kamu akan selalu ada di dalam hatiku selama-lamanya)
Indonesia will be a great country in the next 100 centuries. (Indonesia akan menjadi negara besar 100 abad lagi)
D. Keterangan Waktu dalam Simple Future Tense
Berikut adalah tanda waktu (Time Signal) yang biasa digunakan pada Simple Future Tense:
Tomorrow = Besok
To night = Nanti malam
Before = Sebelum
Until = Hingga/Sampai
Soon = Segera
As soon as = Segera sesudah
After = Setelah
When = Ketika
While = Ketika
Bentuk negative (will+not) biasa juga disingkat dengan: won’t. Tapi singkatan ini hanya sering digunakan dalam percakapan informal saja.
Karena will adalah modal auxiliary, maka ketika bertemu dengan “can (bisa/mampu), maka kata can harus dirubah menjadi “be able to”.
Contoh:
• She will be able to drive a car if she’s already 18 years old. (Dia akan bisa menyetir mobil jika usianya sudah 18 tahun).
• Will dapat diganti dengan Shall, namun hanya untuk orang pertama, yaitu I dan we.
E. Contoh Kalimat Simple Future Tense.
- The police will close the store if the owner doesn’t pay the tax. (Polisi akan menutup toko tersebut jika pemiliknya tidak membayar pajak).
- My father will buy a motorcycle for me if I pass the examination. (Ayahku akan membeli motor jika aku lulus ujian).
- Today will be very hot, you should go by car instead of motorcycle. (Hari ini akan sangat panas, kamu sebaiknya pergi dengan mobil dari pada dengan motor).
- A mother will do everything to make her baby stop crying. (Seorang ibu akan melakukan segala sesuatu untuk membuat bayinya berhenti menangis).
- Will you come to my birthday party along with your little sister? (Akankah kamu datang ke pesta ultahku dengan adik perempuanmu?).
- I will tell you the truth, but it’s not the time. (Aku akan memberitahumu yang sebenarnya, tapi tidak saat ini).
- Will you be OK if I leave you here alone? (Akankah kamu tidak apa-apa jika aku meninggalkanmu di sini?
- I will always stand by you wherever and whenever you need me. (Aku akan selalu ada di sisihmu kapanpun dan dimanapun kamu membutuhkanku).
- I won’t be here to ask your help if it is not emergency. (Aku tidak akan di sini untuk minta bantuanmu jika tidak darurat).
- You will be able to finish this job well if you cooperate with others. (Kamu akan bisa menyelesaikan pekerjaan ini dengan baik jika kamu bekerja sama dengan yang lain).

1 C Kata kerja yang digunakan adalah verb1 (bare infinitive), untuk verb + ing tidak berlaku pada simple future tense.
2 A Pada dasarnya kalian dapat menggunakan dua rumus berikut S + Will + Verb 1 (bare infinitive) atau S + is/am/are + Going to + Verb1 (bare infinitive).
3 A Untuk mengubah menjadi kalimat negative, kalian dapat menggunakan rumus berikut S + Will + Not + Verb 1 (bare infinitive) atau S + is/am/are + Not + Going to + Verb1 (bare infinitive). Jadi kata did harus kita ubah menjadi do (verb1-bare infinitive), dan kata not diletakkan setelah kata will.
4 B Untuk mengubah menjadi kalimat bentuk interogatif, kalian dapat menggunakan rumus berikut Will + S + Verb 1 (bare infinitive) atau Is/am/are + S + Going to + Verb1 (bare infinitive).
5 B Untuk merubah menjadi kalimat bentuk negative interogatif gunakan rumus berikut Will + S + Not + Verb 1 (bare infinitive) atau Is/am/are + S + Not + Going to + Verb1 (bare infinitive). Penggunaan is/am/are tergantung dengan subjeknya, perhatikan tabel pada bagian bawah (berlaku untuk semua bentuk kalimat).
